Your Gynecological Team
Whether you’re a teen, a young mom, a busy professional coping with menopause, or a seasoned citizen, the staff at KCH is dedicated to providing the best care possible, and it’s always based on what you need.
We believe that the best medicine is preventive medicine. That’s why our gynecologists encourage women to schedule routine Pap tests—to catch cervical cancer and pre-cancers before they become a devastating problem. Our gynecologists also advise women on breast and bone health issues. KCH offers 3D mammography, the most advanced breast imaging technology available.
Annual well-woman physicals are important to assess your gynecological health. A pelvic exam often is part of a routine physical exam to find possible signs of ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, sexually transmitted infections, or early-stage cancer. Pelvic exams are also done during pregnancy to check the cervix for signs of problems.
Almost every person who is sexually active will get HPV at some time in their life without HPV vaccination. About 14 million Americans, including teens, become infected with HPV each year. While most HPV infections will go away on their own, infections that don’t go away can cause certain types of cancer.
Your gynecologist can help you with reversible or permanent options, such as implants, IUDs, and tubal ligation.
We offer evaluations, medications and specialty referrals, as needed, for couples struggling with infertility.
We treat common gynecological conditions such as painful periods, endometriosis, abnormal bleeding and cysts.
When you're ready to start a family, an obstetrician at KCH will help you through your pregnancy and through the birthing process. Our team delivers babies in the new state-of-art Ann Schnormeier Center for Birthing Care located in the Wright Family Medical Pavilion. Click here for a picture tour.

A pelvic organ prolapse is when one or more organs inside the pelvis slip from their usual places. The pelvis is located between the waist and thighs. Typically, muscles and tissues in the pelvic region support the pelvic organs and hold them in place. Your KCH gynecologist will help you determine whether a surgical or non-surgical treatment option is the best solution for your specific condition.
